About The Event
Financial reporting is the mean by which accountants communicate specific financial and non-financial information about a specific economic entity to various users. The financial statements represent the core of such communication. Since accounting is defined as the language of business, we will introduce in this webinar the basics of such language. We will introduce financial reporting as an information system with three main components: Inputs, processes, and outputs. The focus will be on introducing the basic financial statements as they represent the basis for deriving estimates and inferences useful in making business decisions. The topics that we will discuss are as follows:
- Financial accounting reporting system (inputs, processes, and outputs.)
- Financial statements (the core output of the financial reporting system)
- Measuring performance (cash versus accrual basis)
- Basics of using ratio analysis in making inferences (profitability, liquidity, and solvency)
