About The Event
Museum of Fine Arts in Alexandria includes a unique collection of Artworks for both Egyptian and Western artists from Baroque, Romanticism, Rococo and Orientalism. In addition, noteworthy examples of lithography and sculpture from European & Egyptian artists. The collection the museum displays includes artworks dated to the 17th century till the 20th century, which is a great educational example for art history and the course of change that art has been through in the last 5 centuries. Our group target was to set a development plan that will help in improving the visitors’ experience with the galleries and the collection, by creating a new and modern visual identity to the museum and applying more interpretation on the museum galleries and halls with preventive conservation outline plan to preserve the museum’s precious collection. The webinar aims to discuss proposed ideas and visions to development the museum’s visual identity in and interpretation of its collection as a part of the Alexandria’s cosmopolitan cultural heritage. Through contribution of guest speakers of multidisciplinary approaches for decision making and community engagement through:
- Developing the visual identity of the museum
- Interpretation of the museum’s history through exhibition and display design
- Preventive Conservation recommendations for the Museum
- Housekeeping multidisciplinary cleaning guidelines for the Museum
